Club and Society Websites

If you are a Club or Society you will have very different ideas about the content of your website than a business would.  It is likely to be all about your activities and your members.  We can ensure that the site is tailored to meet your individual needs. Read more for some ideas about web pages.

  • Events– you can have this as just future events shown like a diary or list, or have a page with past events as well, perhaps showing photos or videos.  These photos and videos could be stored on the site or come from Frickr and Youtube.
  • Members' Forum – this can be set up with members having to ‘Log In’ giving a name and password. Items which are solely for members and not the general public can be put here and once logged in, members can access these specific pages. Also this can enable particular members, such as Chairman or Secretary, to update pages such as events or newletters.
  • Twitter - A link to Twitter can be set up within the site so that people can follow club progress or individual members.
  • Newsletter – some clubs and societies have regular newsletters to keep members informed of what is going on. This can be done online, with a link to another file which could then be printed out. This can save the club printing costs and postage.
  • About the club – you can either have these details on your home page, or if there is quite a bit of information, you may prefer to have it as a separate web page.
  • Club facilities – if the club has its own premises, you may want to detail these and even show photos, either static or moving.
  • Location – this is obviously vital if you wish people to find you and you can have a map showing where you are, or perhaps a link to Google Maps. You may want to include details of how to locate you by car, rail or bus.
  • Membership – here you can put details of how to become a member, a membership application form, and perhaps if appropriate, membership fees.
  • Club history – whether the club is fairly new or has a long history, people are often interested in how or why it was founded.
  • Contact information – clubs and societies often have a Chairman, a Secretary and perhaps a Treasurer. If they are happy to be contacted, their phone numbers or email addresses can be shown. Alternatively you can have a club email address which would automatically forward the message to whoever you wanted it to go to, without the general public being able to see the personal email address of the recipient.
  • Links - These can be links to other websites, perhaps other local or national clubs of the same type.  Or perhaps you have a member who would like a link to their personal site.
