Can a good website be cheap?
A very good question. In the past the answer was no unless the site was very simplistic. Now though, it is possible to have a high quality complex site without breaking the bank. This is possible because of the amounf of off-the-shelf software - a lot of it free - that can be plugged into a site to give it features you could once only dream of. The following is just a small list of the sort of thing you can have:
- Slide show
- News feeds
- Photo gallery
- Video
- Online database
- Events calendar
- Events booking system
- Memebership database
- Donor management
- Customer relationship management
- Simple online payment (e.g. PayPal)
- Online shop (eCommerce)
- Contact form
- Online campaigns
- Mailshots
- Subscription records
- Embedded Google maps
- Embedded YouTube Video
- Embedded Flickr Gallery
- Links to social sites like Facebook and Twitter
Any of these could at one time have added massively to the cost of a website. Now they are affordable.
