Can I have a website that I can change myself?

A lot of older websites had to maintained by the developer, and that was not much use if your business was dynamic.  The lead time and cost were simply too much.  Fortunately there is a better way.  A website created using a Content Management System (or CMS) will provide a way for you to add and delete articles and images, or amend what is already there.  This can be done at various levels.  If you want some people only to submit an article for publication but not have permission to publish it, then the system can be set up in that way.

What you will have is a halfway house between building your own site and ceding all control to the developer.  You will not be able to change the structure of the site - the overall layout and navigation - but you will be able to use a word processor within the site to edit your content.  It will not be as sophisticated as Microsoft Word or other dedicated word processors, but it will give all you need to do the job.
